By its end, most people would agree, the 20th century was an American century. Mitt Romney says that he wants the 21st century to be American too. That seems a little greedy.
Mitt Romney’s unimaginative blueprint for America’s foreign policy will hardly set the world on fire. And that may be a good thing: you do not want an American foreign policy that sets the world on fire. All the same, there are two jarring aspects to Mr Romney’s caution.
